| To illustrate my point.. 3 different G05 discs. All Burned @8X on Pioneer 109BK Fw. 1.55 -------------------------------------------------------- single spikes are irrelevant on Pioneer scans PI must be <280 and PO <321. Unbranded printable G05 Worst G05 I encountered. Please notice the scale used! ![]() 2. Ridisc Xtreme G05 From the batch I got, they all scanned like this one or worse. ![]() 2. Now the good stuff:Traxdata G05 My 50 G05 Traxdata discs all scan like this. I used the same scale as the previous scan for easier comparison.

I agree OC-Freak. I use RitekG05 (DVD-R, 8X). When I used Internal Hammer Storage DVD Burner which it is Panasonic (Matshita SW-9585 Burner) with Firmware B101 ... I was able to burn them at about 4.5x to 6X with No PROBLEM ... I played them back in my home DVD Player and no glitch or anything. But I decided to return the Hammer drive since it would RIP any faster than 2x to 2.5x. Then I bought a BenQ DW1640 and have Firmware BSLB on it ... it rips as fast as 8x, really fast. But when I try to burn the rated Ritek at MAX speeed which would be 8x using DVD Decrypter ... I always get bad burns ... e.g., 1 copy had some minor glitches at the end of DVD, another DVD had a major glitch would freeze on playback in the middle once I fast forwarded the DVD, then it would continue A-OK. So, I ran the BenQ QSan program and it told me to burn these DVD blanks at 4x. So I did and since then I have a good clean burn and no glitches ... BUT WHY DID I PAY FOR A 8x if ti burns at 4x. BTW, my experience is the best burns NO MATTER what media you use is 4X.

I always store important media in hard cases and keep them away from scratches and warping. Just scanned this 1-year old RITEKG04, sold as "Ritek 4x Frosted Silver Top", burned at 2x with a Pioneer DVR-106D and scanned with my current NEC drive. From what I read, I expected a much worse scan. Even if it doesn't show a very good PI errors level, it seems readable without problems.

Both these discs were burned with my LiteOn 832s at 4x. Not bad.

This is the first time I have been able to do a scan and so can't say much about the quality. this is Ritek branded full face prontable GO5 disc, burned on the 7th of the month at 8x on NEC 2500A scanned on Philips DVDR1628: ![]() Is this a good scan? PIF scanning is not possible on this drive so I have read elsewhere.

Ive been using G05 media for ages without any problems on my Pioneer a08, the quality of the tests from my pioneer was excellent, i recently upgraded to a liteon 1635s and got really bad writes to the ritek media, my xbox failed to even recognise the media, so i sold the liteon and kept my trusty pioneer
