zorkzero, your burner maybe defective. I get great result on both my nec 3540a and 2510a. do you have a different burner to try your media on? often it's a hardware issue that's why people with defective burner blame it on their media instead of noticing they have a bad burner.

Plesently surprised with this " average " media , as you can see on 2nd burn , qsuite learning this media , PIE and PIF better on #2 disc .. for the price i paid , can't complain.. rescan these in 6 mo 's to check for degradation ..

not a bad result for ritek. almost makes you think they were high quality. notice the plextor transfer curve, the dips generally coincide with relink points of the kc4b media.

but... batch variation of Ritek media is rampant. 9x increase in PIE. this is the disc right after the previous scan. It would seem my plextor isn't a fan of the relink points at the end either, but the 1635s makes short work out of them
