Both scans burned with my LiteOn 832s, burned at 4x. Both discs full movie 4.36gig burns.

No R04 scans yet? These can be had for about the same price as the 8x Ritek DVD+R's at Newegg. Was Wondering how they burned and scanned out on the BenQ DW1620A if anyone with the drive got venturous and bought a 100 pack spindle of them yet?

Unreadable at 12X - Fails or scans very bad at 8X - only good at 4X
Wished I had seen chas009's comments on new stocks 3 weeks ago !

1rst is 8X burn

Traxdata Ritek R03-02 S/N C1-05CH1501300762F 08

As I stated above, the only acceptable nurns I made was at 4X.
However, the content must not exceed 4 Gb, or else the following often occurred : stellar spikes at the end.
So clearly : 4X only for the disk and content better limited to 3.8 Gb.

The LiteOn is my only drive that can read that DVD. All other drives reject it.

The result seems confusing to me as my AOpen 1648/AAP gives a better scan with this DVD than the ones written @8x.
