I think I'll try burning this media at 8x on 451s@851s

Actually, I went to local Office Depot to get Maxell aka RICOHJPNR01, but it was the last day of "buy 1, get 1 free" sale and they had only one 15-ct spindle in stock. After exploring all possibilities the manager asked me if I'd like to get Verbatims as a replacement for the same price. I knew they might be MCC, but I've never had one. I said I knew Maxells performed very good in my drive, but I wasn't so sure about Verbatims. The manager said I could burn a disc, check if it was ok, and if I didn't like it I could bring the two spindles back to the store and get my money. I liked that offer and I also liked the media ;-)

Scanned at 4X CLV, with a PI/PO sum of 8 ECC.
These discs are sold as Verbatim Datalifeplus 4X DVD+R "Digital Movie" made in India. Actually two packs of five discs. Each box says made in India, the paper band holding the boxes together says made in Taiwan. Brought from PCWorld in the UK. I've burned four of these discs so far and all scannned great. Transfer rate tests with CDSpeed 3.00 were good.

The NEW 3500 likes this media a little better than my NEC 2500 (see my post above). Now if only someone would mod the 2.C8 FW to write this media at 12x.

Bought single Verbatim 4x DVD+R jewel case to try out media. Couldn't find Ricoh DVD+R at JB Hifi in Australia but looking at back of Verbatim Jewel Case saw Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. Heard fairly good things about Mitsubishi dvdr.
Very pleased with results, compared to TY 8x DVD-R media which had very average results.
