Netflix has added a security measure where it resets passwords of some users of whom account data might be obtained in a data leak that happened at another internet company. According to the video streaming service the measure should prevent that leaked passwords are used to take over Netflix accounts.
The company is sending emails to users stating their login data might be obtained by a hack of another internet company. Netflix specifically stresses that this happened some time ago and doesn't mention the affected company anywhere. In the mail the company also advises recipients of the mail to change their password.
