| CloneDVD and AnyDVD have nothing to do with your problem so you can rule that out. I suggest you download DVDInfopro from DVDInfoPro.com for the free program. Insert the Fuji DVD- and see who the manufacturer is, then see if it is on your burners suggested media list. Also I would check the burners site for a firmware upgrade, with DVDInfoPto you can see what firmware your burner has installed. Firmware upgrades consist of bug repairs as well as adding new media to the list of recognized media. If you use Fuji, try to get those made in Japan not Taiwan, stay away from Memorex entirely, it's a guessing game with that media. |

| Speed has nothing to do with this ridiculous problem. I burn at 4x, all the time, every time. No matter how high the DVD-R disc says it can go. Why? I just prefer it that way. Look, I don't know what the answer is, but SOMEONE needs to figure it out. I mean, c'mon. 2 different brands that I've used forever, suddenly don't want to work on my NEC drive. Yet, they work on another PC with a Lite-On drive. The discs are obviously fine.

The Value Class must read CdRom. Check LowerFilters and UpperFilters, maybe some dead drivers sitting there?

| Thanks for the reply, Olli. I'll check that, but I don't understand as to why there would be a change there. I've not done anything to my PC lately other than install a game or two, and upgrade to the latest versions of AnyDVD. The burning process was working flawlessly until recently...

| Hi, Aasrseth here Started a thread a week ago on the forum (see write errors - third posting!) my problems mirrored yours burner and media and other progs running fine but getting a write error usually around 14% of the write process, copies to hard disk fine however. Tons of advice and troubleshooting later I'm still stumped. Not familiar with registry workings but read this thread and checked mine - My lower filter reads AnyDVD my upper filter reads GEARAspiWDM did some research and it appears to go with the iPod In the link I read the person said it was interfering with their game program could this be my culprit also? |

| Write DVD 10 11 W2 --- The bane of my existence!!! AHHH... Like Quicksy, and Aarseth I just recently started having problems. I downloaded the trial version of AnyDVD and CloneDVD in late November, I used it sucessfully for about 10 burns during that time - with NO errors. About 5 days ago I purchased the key and installed it, then proceeded to download the New versions of both programs. I can no longer burn any DVD's! I am on XP - I have a Sony DVD DVD RW DW-D22A drive. No settings have been changed on my computer. I have tried Uninstalling and reinstalling both programs, restoring my computer --- and just I'm just about ready to take a hammer to my whole system! Before uninstalling the programs I was getting the Write DVD 10 11 W2 error... Now after reinstalling the programs I get a pop up window from AnyDvd that says it failed to read the dvd. This is very frustrating! |

| Olli - I tried your suggestion of checking in regedit... however you mention upperfilters... I don't have an entry at all for upper filters. Not sure what that means exactly. LOL |

(not me) will tell you what to do with those reg entries.Has anyone, via Device Manager, just uninstalled their burner/shut down/reinstalled/booted up? Would Window's "New Hardware Found" resolve the issue? type in CdRom in Value Class? Delete the registry entries, then uninstall the drive in device manager then reinstall the drive and reboot and let windows recognize new hardware? scary!Don't do what I said in the registry, I'm just guessing to get things rolling! Because I sure don't know and mucking about with reg keys can lead to disaster! Hello, Hello ... clue-full postings wanted! Whisperer |

| Aarseth here again. Update on my situation - removed my iTunes program then checked the registry and the only filter recognized was the lower (AnyDVD), low and behold 2 subsequent successful burns! (The first in several weeks). I won't hold my breath but I might have solved my problem. Hope this helps (I'm glad I'm not an avid supporter of iTunes) |

| Welcome Back Olli, hope all is well. I have never received the "Write DVD 10 11 W2 error". Olli has suggested to check the registry entry posted. As a reference ONLY, I have posted my registry entry so those with the problem can compare. I too have no clue of what it means, nor do I have an upper filter entry. |

The GEARAspiWDM was suspected to be the problem, those with problems should check for it. Also check the version of the file in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\GEARAspiWDM.sys (right mouse click, properties) |

| So far we have a suspision that iTunes may be the culpret, right? See here also for a pending, possible second iTunes issue: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=162796 So who's got this problem and also has iTunes on their system? For those who do, it might be informative to note or post the Windows Registry Key entries both before and after uninstalling iTunes if you are of a mind to help by trying to resolve the issue by uninstalling iTunes. Everyone would understand if you are afraid to enter Win Registry, but all you would be doing is copying and pasting info (or just writing it down), not making any manual changes. Don't do it if your not comfortable but the info might prove be helpful. You get to the Regestry by clicking on the "Start" button in your taskbar, clicking on "Run" and typeing "regedit" in the resulting dialog box. Follow the paths that Olli and Slysoft provided and either copy and paste or just write down and post the entries back on this thread. Then close the regedit interface without making any changes. Also those with this issue could follow Slysoft's (Jame's) suggestion to postback the following info Quote:

| I have a relatively new machine (described below) on which I have been successfully copying withCloneDVD for a few months. I recently (couple of weeks ago) installed iTunes, and today started getting the error. This is almost certainly the first attempt to copy a DVD since installing iTunes. Details are Sony RA-840G dual core Pentium 2.8GHz Windows XP Media Center SP2 with all latest updates AnyDVD 5.6.1.1 (but it fails with or without AnyDVD) CloneDVD2 2.8.5.1 SONY DVD-RW (DL) DW-Q28A SONY DVD-ROM DDU 1615 Registry Values for the key requested are CLASS: CD-ROM EnumPropPages32: MmSys.Cpl,MediaPropPageProvider Icon: -51 Installer32: storprop.dll,DvdClassInstaller LowerFilters: AnyDVD ElbyDelay ElbyCDFL PxHelp20 UpperFilters: GEARAspiWDM Of course, I have no idea what most of this means, but hopefully the wizards can use it. If you need any more info let me know, I'll try to oblige. Oh yes, media (according to DVDInfoPro) is RitekG04 Type DVD-R Rated Speed 4.0x |

| Just a quick follow up to my previous post ---- On the advice of another forum, I deleted the values for Lower and Upper Filters (once you're in regedit, with the key values displayed in the right hand pane, right click on LowerFilter and choose delete, same for UpperFilter); went to device manager and uninstalled the DVD drivers; then did a restart. Everything's working! Not sure if this is the whole answer, or the best answer, or even if it's NO answer and will cause other problems, but it certainly worked for me. After the restart (during which Windows detected my "new" hardware), the registry values are no longer present for LowerFilters or UpperFilters. |

| ......and (as maybe could have been expected), starting iTunes I get the message that "the drivers iTunes uses to import and burn CD's" are not present, and to "please re-install iTunes". I think I'll give that a miss until I've spoken with Apple |
