I'm a long-time user of CloneDVD/AnyDVD and recently purchased CloneDVD mobile with the desire of ripping for my Audiovox 6600 pocketpc. I have tried five different movies with the same failure results and believe there is something wrong with the setup on my laptop. The Slysoft support team has been unable to shed any light on this subject.

Error:
The pipe is being closed.
The output drive might be full or is defective
Please select another drive to write output file to and try again.

Details:
File 2 "C:\Program Files\SlySoft\CloneDVDmobile\apps\ffmpeg.exe" -y -i - -ac 2 -vcodec mpeg4 -vtag xvid -bufsize 4096 -acodec mp3 -ar 48000 -vol 256 -ab 64 -f avi -s 320x240 -r 23.98 -b 414 -timestamp "2006-02-21 15:50:32" -title "AH" "C:/Documents and Settings/Owner/Desktop/ah.avi" 232 TCE

Specs:
Fujitsu N5010 Lifebook 3.0GGhz Intel
1.25GB RAM
60GB drive (17GB free)
Toshiba DVD SDR6112F (I'm not sure where to find the firmware version)
AnyDVD 5.9.2.1
CloneDVD Mobile 1.0.5.2
Windows XP Home SP2 - admin privileges

I have tried writing to other hard drives (USB and network) as well as to flash memory. I have copied the video_ts folder to the desktop (via anydvd) and tried sourcing from there all. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the software. I get the same error (output drive full or defective).

Has anyone run across anything similar? What else can I try?

Mica,
Hi there. Afraid I can't give you any advice but can empathise. I too have received this error. I think it's probably a generic error message. Rather oddly though it's only (so far!) happened with one particular episode of Seinfeld, it keeps on failing on that episode but others work fine. Very odd. I've emailed SlySoft so I'll let you know if I get a (useful) response. All the best,
Nick

I'm betting the issue is more with the output format than your configuration. I too receive the same error message when I attempt to rip DVD's with CloneDVD Mobile, to MP4 format for my PSP. Every DVD that I attempt to rip with this format ends in the same error that you reported. I can rip to MP4 AVC format with no problems, but standard MP4 ends in failure.

I'm betting the issue is a problem with the ffmpeg.exe utility that Slysoft uses and I'm still waiting for a fix from them.

If anyone else is seeing this same error, can you post the target format that you are trying to rip to?

Z.

Well, when I ripped to a Windows Mobile Smartphone, it worked just fine. I guess I should've tried that from the start...
