So the Video part is ok, that's good news. To have correct Video with 16:9 aspect ratio as well, the resolution should read like this:

Res1=320x240
ResAna1=320x180
ResExpand1=320x240

The last line will expand the resolution from 320x180 to 320x240 keeping the aspect ratio.

You could also use

Res1=320x240
ResAna1=320x240

if you don't mind slim actors.

I'd be happy to put a mike up the the headphones and email you an audio clip, if that would help. Oh, and it doesn't support aac audio. The ipod profile won't play at all.
Thanks, Larry
Sorry, I don't have an answer right now. I will try to get my hands on an AV320 so I can check it out myself.
The AV320 profile already uses MP3 Audio with CBR 128 kBit/s (ABRate=128) and a sampling frequency of 32000 (ARate=32000).
You could try a sampling frequency of 48000 (ARate=48000). This is the same frequency as it is recorded on a DVD, so CloneDVD mobile won't do any resampling.

Thanks for the help. I've alreday tried 24000, 32000, 44100, and 48000. Only one from the .ini I haven't tried is 22050. I'll do that tonight. Nice to know about the ResExpand, I'll tinker with that as well. Bummer on the vbr though, I was hoping that was it. Thanks for your help, I'm sorry to be a pest, but I'm giving my girlfriend the 320 this weekend as a birthday present, and I was trying to set up an easy converting station for her as well. For the moment, I'll use other progs. Hmmmm, I'll split out the audio fromt he avi, and see if it'll just play that ok. Be interesting. Any other suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks, Larry

You could try a lower bitrate as well. Maybe ABRate=64 does the trick?

I just ran across this tidbit in one of the reviews on the 320:

The recommended MP3 audio resolution is 128kbps (44KHz, Stereo), and it requires the AVI wrapper to use a 1:1 interleave.

Is it possible that it isn't interleaved, and that's the problem? I'm just throwing things at the wall and hoping they stick here, feel free to tell me I'm full of it.

Hello,

I have a question about this version even if it's a beta. Why can't we make an AVC video for the PSP ? With the 1.0.7.1 we have the choice between mp4 and AVC for the PSP and now with the new encoder, we don't have this choice : only mp4 for firmware < 2.6 or >= 2.6 ... I have choosen CloneDVD Mobile for it's easy use and the speed of conversion and also for the AVC... In a next beta, will the AVC be added for the PSP ?

Thank you.

If you read the revision history, you'll know:

http://www.slysoft.com/download/beta...edvdmobile.txt

- Known problems: The AVC profile for PSP had to be removed, as it is not
yet working with mencoder
- Known problems: PSP does not show movie title

Hello Tru,

thank you for your answer. I have read it when the first beta was released and I have installed the beta 2 yesterday and forgotten this.
Sorry for my post.

Firstly, thanks for the trial reset as 1.0.7.1 came 21 days too late as my trial expired.

Now trying 1.1.0.2 beta which works great for my needs - fast speed, good AV sync (archos 400), and subtitles support.

One annoying thing though, if the subtitles on the dvd is yellow in color, the resulted hard coded subs in the .avi becomes fuzzy (white colored, almost like drop shadowed) at best, illegible in most cases when viewed on the device. I wish I have a screen cap but I hope my description is clear enough.

Anyone sees the same thing?

Attached a screen shot. Subtitles looks like it's transparent with white borders. Very difficult to follow, imho.

In the next beta (to be released soon) the AVC profile will be back "with a bang": Subtitle support & no more A/V sync issues.

Just tried runing an encode done under PSP AVC>2.6 and it says unsupported Data, plays in QT. checking the file info on the PSP says its 796 bitrate I think the Highest AVC Supported is 768.

Where did you put the Quality slider?

I put the Quality Slider to 33. It's the Highest level, but it should still be making a Vid that the PSP Can read. I'll try backing it down a couple of notches, I don't see anywhere in the .ini file where you can put a limit on Bitrate...

How did you manage to do that? Maximum Quality Setting for PSP AVC is 25...???
I assume something went wrong during installation. Delete devices.ini, reinstall CloneDVD mobile 1.0.0.4 beta.

I am currently using v1.1.0.5 and I am having the usual issue with the mencoder error. The message is :

"The pipe has ended.

The output drive might be full or is defective.

Please selec another drive to write output files and try again."

This is the dump from the error log:

File 2 "C:\Program Files\SlySoft\CloneDVDmobile\apps\mencoder.exe" - -af volume=10 -aspect 16:9 -of lavf -lavfopts format=psp:i_certify_that_my_video_stream_does_not_use_b_frames -oac lavc -ovc lavc -lavcopts aglobal=1:vglobal=1:vcodec=h264:coder=1codec=aac:vbitrate=560bitrate=64 -vf scale=368:208,pp=fd,harddup -info name="Night Watch" -ofps 30000/1001 -o "F:\Videos\PSP\Horror\Night Watch\MAQ10043.mp4" 109 TCE

There is plenty of free space on the drive. This error only, repeat, ONLY occurs when I try to use the AVC/H.264 format for PSP. I can successfully use the MPEG-4 format for PSP, but I would much prefer to use the AVC/H.264 format as I believe the video/audio quality to be much better, and the file sizes much smaller.

I have checked the "deinterlace video" option and selected 25 (maximum quality) for output.

This is the relevant section from the devices.ini file:

[Sony PlayStation Portable (AVC/H264, Firmware Version >= 2.6)]
Res1=320x240
ResAna1=368x208
VCodec=h264
ACodec=aac
ARate=48000
ABRate=64
Volume=400
Format=lavf
lavfopts=format=psp
lavcopts=aglobal=1:vglobal=1:vcodec=h264:coder=1codec=aac
FileType=mp4
; Uncomment the two lines below for firmware < 2.6
;NTSCFrameRate1=29.97
;NTSCFrameRateDeinterlace1=29.97
PALFrameRate1=29.97
DirPath=MP_ROOT/100ANV01/MAQ1
Quality=15
useMencoder=1
SubTitle=1

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I'm new here, so please excuse my lack of knowledge. When or why you use "deinterlace video"???
