Hello,

a few days ago Nero 6.6 stopped during the burning process and kept doing that when retrying. I use Nero in combination with Shrink DVD 3.2. The problem occurred after a windows registry crash, which is repaired now. I already tried reïnstalling Nero and changing the Shrink DVD limit to 4300 MB, but that didn't change anything.
I wonder what the problem could be, because Nero worked perfectly fine for several years... The media (dvd+R) can not be the problem, because I've been using the same brand.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

thanks for the response. I did the DMA-thing and it is now completely on. However the burning process still fails. I hope someone can help me.

I also noticed that the wasted dvd's look (I think) a bit strange. As usual with non-finished cd's or dvd's you can see a small circle around the middle of the dvd-rom. But these have the circle with a piece that is faded out of the circle, as (I hope) you can see in the picture I attached.

Any help would be great!

Hello,

a few days ago Nero 6.6 stopped during the burning process and kept doing that when retrying. I use Nero in combination with Shrink DVD 3.2. The problem occurred after a windows registry crash, which is repaired now. I already tried reïnstalling Nero and changing the Shrink DVD limit to 4300 MB, but that didn't change anything.
I wonder what the problem could be, because Nero worked perfectly fine for several years... The media (dvd+R) can not be the problem, because I've been using the same brand.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!....

How did you fix the registry problem?

You say the same brand of disc, are they from the same spindle? Do the ones that worked ID the same as the ones you tried now?

Grab ImgBurn (free) and use it to burn Shrink's output. If Shrink is outputting to a folder set ImgBurn to build mode. This will help determine if Nero is at fault. ImgBurn will also tell you the disc manufacturer and what burn speeds are available. Also load an older burn that worked and see if the disc IDs exactly the same.

Do note many folks have problems with the discs you are using.
