Pioneer DVR 110D
Nero 6.3.0.3

I tried burning a 120 minute video program with two subtitle tracks(6.0GB program according to Sony DVD Architect where the files were prepared) onto a Ridata Double Layer DVD+R with disappointing results.

Using "DVD-Video" setting.

"Total Data to be Written": 5,454MB

Nero Disc info reads "Available capacity 8,152MB".
Book Type: DVD+R Dual Layer

When I try to burn I keep getting:

"DVD-Video files reallocation started"
"DVD-Video files reallocation completed (no files modifies)"
"DVD-Video files sorted
"Compilation will not fit onto a blank disc".

I don't understand why a 6GB compilation won't fit onto an 8GB disc. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you upgraded to the latest nero? Looks like you've got 6.3.0.3 - newest is 6.6.0.13 or similar and I think it would most likely solve your issue. Download from www.nero.com for update

When compiling compilation, make sure your writer has no disc. On the bar, select 8.5GB Size then try to burn... if there is still a problem maybe your burner doesn't support the RICOHJPND00 discs

Thanks for your reply. I'll download Nero upgrade tonight (I have 21.6 dial-up so 32MB takes a while).

Nero's price was too steep so I downloaded Sonic's RecordNow Deluxe for $30 and it worked great burning the DL DVD.

Suite is $70
Deluxe is $50
Regular is $30

I'm not endorsing this product, just checked out the web site.

Kttii, thanks for the correction. I did download the Regular version because that's all I needed to burn Dual Layer.
Burn On!

If you have Nero 6.3.0.3 you shouldn`t have to pay anything to get 6.6.x.x- just download the update.

You should have UPDATED (not UPGRADE) under nero's website because they define these two terms like this:
- Update -> within the same version number (6.0.0.1 -> 6.6.0.13)
- Upgrade -> new version altogether (5.x.x.x -> 6.x.x.x)
