A lot of people suggest water, but that shit won't cut out the grease or whatever waste you'll eventually lay on the LCD surface. I use Q-Tips and low concentration rubbing alcohol to rub off nasty spots and lint free cloth to wipe off the dust. Just make sure you turn off the LCD when you do the cleaning.

I always use distilled water... very cheap and works quite good!

ps. don't push the LCD to hard, this can cause dead pixels...
