Unspecified Recorder Error
General Hardware Forum Discuss, Unspecified Recorder Error at Computer Hardware forum; Are you using a cracked registring code? There is a chance that NERO detects "fake" codes and this results in strange behaviour of the program. I don't know exactly what happens because I have an official licence, but I know it'll ruin you CDR's. ------------------ This message was written by

G'Day When I attempt to copy a CD with Nero ( latest version )a error message appears saying "Unspecified Recorder Error" - "Read CD Failed". ( I have been successfully burning roms for the past two years without a hitch ). Can anyone enlighten me as to what the cause may be? Thankyou. Anzac ( Australia ) ps. I have posted the log file from nero below Anzac Australia 1480-0128-5000-4070-2960 Windows 98 4.10 WinAspi: File 'Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=4.60 (1017), size=48128 bytes, created 12/11/1998 10 6 0Nero Version: 4.0.5.6 Recorder: Version: 4.05 - HA 0 TA 6 - 4.0.5.6 Adapter driver: HA 0 CD-ROM: Version: 327P - HA 1 TA 1 Adapter driver: HA 1 CmdQueuing : 1 CmdNotification: 2 WriteBufferSize: 23856742 Byte ShowDrvBufStat : 0 EraseSpeed : 0 Physical memory : 127MB (130576kB) Free physical memory: 18MB (19412kB) Memory in use : 66 % Wizard: On CD-Copy 26.10.1999 8 1 3 #1 Phase 48 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 897Analyzing CD 8 1 3 #2 CDCOPY -1 File CDCopy.cpp, Line 1928CD is copyrighted 8 1 1 #3 CDCOPY -27 File CDCopy.cpp, Line 807Results of analyzing the source CD: without subcodes, without jitter corr. 8 1 2 #4 Phase 20 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 897Start of read CD 8 1 2 #5 SCSI 0 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 964SCSI Exec, HA 1, TA 1, LUN 0 Status: 0x04 (0x01, SCSI_ERR) HA-Status 0x00 (0x00, OK) TA-Status 0x02 (0x01, SCSI_TASTATUS_CHKCOND) Sense Key: 0x05 (KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST) Sense Code: 0x24 Sense Qual: 0x00 CDB Data: 0x5A 0x00 0x31 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x0C 0x00 0x00 0x00 8 1 2 #6 SCSI 0 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 964SCSI Exec, HA 1, TA 1, LUN 0 Status: 0x04 (0x01, SCSI_ERR) HA-Status 0x00 (0x00, OK) TA-Status 0x02 (0x01, SCSI_TASTATUS_CHKCOND) Sense Key: 0x05 (KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST) Sense Code: 0x24 Sense Qual: 0x00 CDB Data: 0x5A 0x00 0x31 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x0C 0x00 0x00 0x00 8 1 7 #7 SCSI 0 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 964SCSI Exec, HA 1, TA 1, LUN 0 Status: 0x04 (0x01, SCSI_ERR) HA-Status 0x00 (0x00, OK) TA-Status 0x02 (0x01, SCSI_TASTATUS_CHKCOND) Sense Key: 0x00 (KEY_NO_SENSE) Sense Code: 0x00 Sense Qual: 0x00 CDB Data: 0xBE 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x02 0xA0 0x00 0x00 0x10 0xF8 0x00 0x00 8 1 7 #8 CDR -1 File CDCopy.cpp, Line 2947Unspecified Recorder Error 8 1 7 #9 CDCOPY -27 File CDCopy.cpp, Line 1061Results of analyzing the source CD: Track 00: Index0=00 0.00, Index1=??:??.??, End=954437 0.45, Mode=TRM_DATA_RAW_MODE2, Blocksize=2352, Track config=0x008 1 2 #10 Phase 22 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 897Read CD failed Existing drivers: File 'IoSubSys\SCSI1HLP.VXD': Ver=4.10.1998, size=19270 bytes, created 11/05/1998 8 1 0File 'IoSubsys\NEROCD95.VXD': Ver=4, 0, 0, 2, size=29771 bytes, created 25/10/1999 1 7 6File 'IoSubsys\CDR4VSD.VXD': Ver=2.5 (074), size=206726 bytes, created 6/05/1999 2 0 0File 'IoSubsys\DRVWPPQT.VXD': Ver=3.10.36a, size=228223 bytes, created 11/05/1998 8 1 0File 'IoSubsys\CDFS.VXD': Ver=4.10.1998, size=59133 bytes, created 11/05/1998 8 1 0

G'Day Bhackstage@work thanks for the reply, but since I posted the help request, I also tried all my other CD-R programs - Prassi, CD Creator, + Juggler, and none of them will allow me to burn a CD. Their error messages vary??? Was wondering if a windows system file or driver or whatever may be the cause - it's got me beat!!! Cheers, Anzac

Maybe its time to replace your writer...i had the same problem with my old philips3610......after many backups (when i say many i also mean many) u can toss it away.....i heard that scsi writers can handle more backups......maybe its an other problem but mine had to be replaced...(already tried everything else like clean install of win98 and stuff)......
