| Turn off "Auto reboot" that should solve your problem ![]() Just in case you don't know how: Hold down "Windows Key" then press "Pause/Break key" select "Advanced" select "Startup and Recovery" untick "Automatically reboot" Now it won't reboot, however when it used to auto-reboot it will now crash to the BSPOD (at least this way you have more chance of determining the error). Also have you installed XP SP1? this may help if you have not. Spunky |

| Re: System restarts by its self I think Windows XP has a setting that restarts itself. Win 98 had the Blue Screen Of Death, that you couldn't get out of. Win Xp just restarts itself to avoid you the hassle of doing it. I have Win Xp and mine does it occasionally. I have heard of issues with XP and some network cards. My machine seems to restart when I'm online. I have no moden in my machine at all. Just a network card for my cable modem. I also heard of issues XP has with Sound Blaster Audigy cards. Mine doesn't restart very often, but everytime it seems I am online. I never had a restart for a game or application. That makes me think it is more of the network card. Hope this helps. Poon |

| Re: ty unfortunately, i think it is something you must live with. I don't know what cards cause this situation. I have a DLinks network card and mine restarts occasionally. I have a Netgear card but I am afraid to put it in because of XP and having to re-register your XP. Like I said, it doesn't happen much, but seems always when I'm online. My machine runs games and apps like a champ.
