Many Motherboard manufacturers have a utility for this (Asus has PC Probe, MSI has PC Alert, etc). Probably the best general one is speedfan. It's free.

Speedfan doesn't have that purdy desktop-widget-like display though.

Eh, I just check the BIOS or Everest (the latter seems to be a couple of degrees out on my rig) and have done with it

Mind you, I'm not overclocking and my system is stable so I'm not too concerned.
