Some people in "What have You Bought......" thread wanted pics of my build so here they are. If you don't know what's going on then don't build one I'm not making captions for these pics but they should be in order amd i need to make the wiring better.

Thanks Arachne. I put this together to fast so i didn't have time to edit and add pics so i just used links to other pics i already had here. Best i could to at the time.

The chew bone is for Speckles Her toys are all over the house.

Nice Rolling. I thought you bought 4 Gb of that Gskill Memory (Micron D9). Saving it for a rainy day are we?

I do have 4 but only using 2 Yep rainy day.

Nice going rolling, I'll have to do mine as well when I get all the parts which will be a few months.

C2D's are nice. Mine is same speed as my single core (2.4) and it runs a good twice as fast as the single core does at stock speeds.

The really great thing (IMO)about C2D's (E6600 at least) are you can get 300-400 Mhz overclock easily without pushing it. Like nealh said:

Yep Sure Did. Any time.

E6600 is a great CPU and you have a beautiful case for one.

Mine is E6320. Honestly, I feel even Sempron for US$25 is powerful enough to handle most things I do with computers, but who wouldn't want an 8-core or even 16-core processor if made available?

if yours is obsolete and you need an excuse to work on another one, I'll take it off your hands

after all...it's all old technology anyway now!

naaa i'll keep it awhile. It's just technology moves so fast, it's hard to keep up money wise. I'd like to build a new machine once a yr but i don't have the funds.

i actually find out if i got a job today or tomorrow and first thing on my list is a new computer. if I do get this job.

I'm just torn between building a super awesome new desktop or buying a slightly lower than top of the line macbook. decisions decisions

That's to bad sorry to hear. I know how women are, every time my wife leaves the house to go shopping i say "spend spend spend" then i hear no no i won't buy much, then she comes home with SACKS of stuff. I say "what did you buy?" and she say's oh nothing

Thanks man. Sorry i put this thread together so bad but it gives you a general idea of me building it and the final pic. When i move it to my old desk where my speakers are sitting i'll take some pics of it.

So, have you put it to work encoding videos yet? That's probably the most cpu intensive thing that I do with my computer, and I've been thinking/daydreaming about going to a faster system. My old single core A64 is getting a little long in the tooth, not that I have a lot of room to talk about getting old and decrepit.
