Ricoh CD MP7083A Burn Failures

I am running Windows XP Professional and Nero Burning ROM version 6.
When I run simulation with my Ricoh burner it is successful. When I do the actual burn it fails almost immediatly.
The Ricoh is mounted on an external USB box.
If I use my internal burner all is OK.
I have attached the log but I do not know how to read it.
I would appreciate some assistance as to my problem.
