Please Help: Problems With .iso

Hello, I have been using DVDFab to turn convert my dvds into .iso then have been using Nero 7 to burn them onto dvd. This has worked for me for a very long time now. I recently began getting an error that without fail will occur at 88 89% completion. The dvd drive with speed up very fast at this percent will stop buffering and then complete the process early. Here is the log that I got after the error occured. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum

From the log I can see that you are using low quality discs. This is a very frequent cause of burning failures.

Try again with a proven quality disc and see if this solve. I suggest a Verbatim (very easy to find) or a Taiyo Yuden.

Yes, I actually I had considered the discs as the problem as they were given to me free from a friend, but since I had updated to windows xp service pack 3 at the same time I ran out of my other set of discs it makes me a little more worried about the hardware, or software going bad or at least becoming incompatible. Will have to get some new discs tonight. Thanks for the reply

No luck with changing discs. Ran to walmart tonight and picked up some Sony DVD R discs. Here is the newest log, anyone able to see what is wrong? Still able to rip a dvd into an .iso and the .iso will run on daemon tools. Not sure if windows xp service pack 3 could have messed anything up to make me have this error.

Too bad also Sony discs are not the very best

Another possibility is that Daemon Tools is interfering with the burning process in some way. Try to disable it when you burn and see if this solve

To exclude a damaged drive, another test you can do is install the drive in a different computer. If it still gives the same problem, then probably the drive is "gone"

Well I have disabled my daemon tools, and unfortunately could not buy a small stack of anything but Memorex from best buy, so still with the cheap cds. The good news is that I had a succesful burn, now to to see if i can repeat the process with the new discs. After that I guess I should try the old discs again with Daemon tools disabled. Thanks Again for the help. You actually suggested the same thing as the Dell techs that remotely logged onto my system last night. So good job

You might also consider trying ImgBurn instaed of Nero. ImgBurn is strictly for burning disks and doesn't have the 'bloat' of your typical Nero installation.
