Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-104 stopped backing up.

I have always used my DVD/CD Drive to backup files from my Quicken program and other files. My son was burning CDs two weeks ago and since then I cannot get the drive to backup my files. I tried UPGDVD.EXE and DVD Region Killer. The firmware I upgraded to is ver. 1.31. When I try to backup, I just get the same message, Unable to write to Drive D. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-104 stopped backing up.

This burner is old, and there is a normal chance that it is at it's life end...

Test on another computer, even try to clean the drive/lens.
