| Welcome to the forum  Can you give a bit more detail, such as your system specs and the programs you're using for playback, so forum members can help you better? Can you check the DMA status of the drive please, there's a link in my signature "How to check/enable DMA" that explains it for various Operating Systems (since you don't mention which one you're using).

| thank you for your response my specs are : dual core 6600,2gigs of ram,7600gt nvidia,audigy 2,350gigs hd,abit9 pro motherboard the os is win xp for playback i use windows media player (both os and classic) ,bs player,foobar k-lite mega pack installed also the DMA status is "DMA if available" |

| Wow, only 5 Google hits for this burner model. It's not SATA is it? AB9 Pro has a JMicron IDE port, try installing the proper drivers for it. May take some research, I don't use this myself. |
| I haven't heard of this drive either. Are you sure it isn't AD-5170A?

| well i found the newer driver on jmicron site,installed it, and now playback,performance of the pc etc are perfect BUT still the secondary channel has no transfer mode and the ea sports original dvds (only them) are still unreadable...whats going on  |
