I am getting reoccurring errors, looking about the same time/amount as system freezes.
1.(Services Control Manager Error)
The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
AmdK7
Fips

Drivers?!? I thought I updated totally. What are these drivers?

2. Event System Error
The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during its internal processing. HRESULT was 8007043C from line 44 of d:\qxp_slp\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp. Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services to report this error.

I dunno about this one.

3. VSS Error ( Usually happends at the same time as the Event error above)
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine CoCreateInstance. hr = 0x80040206.

Anyone understand any of this or can help me out please post!

Phil_:
Could this be a problem with the 'thermal Paste'? I keep monitoring SPeedFan and I am not overheating at all. Also I haven't changed the processor/heatsink or messed with it since I bought the comp. I took the whole computer (besides the heat sink from the processor from the motherboard) apart the other night to see if there was any physical damage to anything that I could see. The only thing broken was a part of the case plastic, so no problem there.

We seem to be returning to the whole CPU Heatsink Problem. IMHO this is not the cause. If you really want to know if its CPU vs Heat try StressCPU. This little beautie will single out the CPU and as the name suggests - stress it out. Harsher than Prime 95 and it only tests the CPU making it problem specific. 6 hours + and you can then be sure its not the CPU or a heat issue.

This would be next to impossible without knowing the manufacture of the Mother Board. If I was to guess, and only guess I would say that Temp 1 is the CPU temp, Temp 2 maybe PWMC(power regulators on the MB itself, Temp 3 maybe the North Bridge Chip (which in your case 52C is a little high).

Some of the Nf2 Boards have a heat problem with the North Bridge, the following is why this is a big problem. The North Bridge actually controls the Memory throughput to the CPU (unlike the amd64+ processors which are located on the actual CPU). What you are experiencing seems to be a heat/component failure problem. If you dont have a heatsink and fan on the North Bridge, I would get one and try it out (shouldnt be more than 20 bucks).

I hope you get this thing figured out soon, I know from experience how painful it is to have these kinds of problems(loose lots of sleep).

Good luck

AMDK7 is a system driver.

I'm unsure where the North bridge is as well, and I am also wondering why it wouldn't have acted up like this after I had bought the comp back in Jan. Why would it just now start acting up if it was a heat Issue?

This should be your Mother Board

Look at the errors. Windows is telling you what's happening. You have driver issues.

Don't quote me but I think it is fixed, at least hasn't frozen on me yet since I changed a bunch of my BIOS settings, incuding changing the FSB to .05. What did that do exactly, and does it affect my PC?( i.e. Performance?)

Yo! Thanks soooo much guys Been running since 5:00pm and still hasn't frozen!( It's 8:53pm right now) Ran some high powered games ( World of Warcraft and GTA San Andreas), no problems. I still don't understand how changing my FSB to .05 fixed it. Thanks again guys, if the problem happens again I'll be back.

fsb affects the cpu speed , when putin it higher it makes the cpu faster (in other words overclock) that of course also raise up the ram speed, when down it makes it slower , the result is calculated by fsb x multiplier for example your cpu's multiplier is 11 and the original fsb is 200 so 200 x 11 = 2200mhz

My computer also freezes excessively.

Here is my story: When i boot up my PC it freezes at 1 of the following points...
Code:
* Display Screen (when pc first loads, the display screen with the shortcuts to the bios, boot menu, etc etc)
* XP White load bar (when the white bar loads across the bottom of the screen. a SP2 addon
* Desktop (sometimes if windows actually loads it will freeze when it gets to the desktop)
* game (when i load a game it will freeze in numerous spots, Freeze while loading into a multiplayer game, Freezes when it gets into the game, Freezes after about 5 minutes of play)
If it gets past all these stages it might last a while. I HOPE.

Here are my specs:
Code:
CPU: Pentium 4 2.4Ghz Processor
Memory: 512MB RAM
Video Card: Radeon 9600Pro 256mb
Motherboard: Soltek SL-85DR3/SL-85DR3-R
(latest Video Card driver i got was Catalyst 5.11 Windows XP - Driver Download)
Can anyone help me with this problem...

I read the thread topic post but my card differs and i know that is is a video card related problem.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in Advance

It is very simple release the processor heat sink, unplug the processor from its socket, if you have an air pump flash the socket and peripherals, then plug the processor and tighten the heat sink and you're done

Ok guys I have tried everything and my computer keeps freezing, usually 5-10 minutes after startup, sometimes before windows loads.
My PC:
Athlon XP 3200+
Win XP Pro
512 Pc3200 DDR Ram
Geforce 5500 256 MB 8x AGP
n-Force 2 Mobo
Maxtor 160 GB HD
Maker: E-machine
Model #: T3256

Ok, it first started about a month ago. It would freeze and I would power down(by pressing the power button). When it would restart it would let me send Microsoft an Error report. So I finally sent one and it told me I had a Graphics Driver stuck in an Infinite loop and to update my graphics drivers or get a new graphics card,(At the time using the integraded Geforce 128mb Card). I updated my drivers multiple times, but would continue freezing. I ordered and installed my new Geforce 5500. It seemed ok, only freezing about twice the day it was installed. The next day it was just as bad or worse than before the new graphics card. After a restart now I don't get the option to send the error report to Microsoft, so I don't think it is the graphics card. Finally after running every virus/spyware check known to man, I decided to reformat my HD. I put Windows XP Pro on and it is still freezing. Thus leading me to the conclusion that it must be Hardware. I looked on badcaps.net, and it doesn't seem like that's the problem. So I "think" I have narrowed it down to RAM, HD, Processor, MoBo, or Power Supply. Anyone know any ways to check these components for errors (software or a physical test.) PLEASE HELP! I am currently going for my A+ certification, and I still can't figure it out. I tested the temperature with SpeedFan 4.25, usual range is between 30-40C. Any help?
