Hi Guys,
I have a LG Combo RW/DVD Drive, that won't read anymore any kinds of CD, YES, ANY kinds of CD(R(W)). The problem began when the drive won't burn any CDRWs anymore, and updated the firmware, and cleaned the drive by opening it. While I was cleaning it, and testing it (while opened), a little conductor that enables the drive to slide while being connected to the CD Drive's main board was really annoying. So, I disconnected it, so that I can turn around the little resistor (variable) to see the effects; it just change the level of the laser's light, but did not enable me to write CDRWs. I put back and removed over and over again, the conductor. After four times, it didn't recognize any kinds of CD anymore.
I tried to put back everything, and believe me, I DID tryied my best, but didn't find a solution.
First, I want to mention, that it has no Software, nor Hardware problem from my PC, because normally the drive will recognize any CD (and plays CDDA), even if it's not connected to the PC's Mainboard.
The problem is that, when you put a CD in, the tray is closed, and the motor locks the CD between the motor itself, and the upper cover of the drive. Then the laser on the guideline comes on the first track of the CD. The laser lights up (Red light), and if you put a paper on the laser, you can see that it's a little circle becoming very small circle of red light, it repeats two times, and then stops. I have putted a mirror on it, but it still didn't recognize anything, and I've putted also a lot of CD, but didn' do.
So, I want to ask you guys who can help me fix it myself.
Any help from you will be greatly appreciated. |
