"Invalid Format" issue Xbox 360 ELITE!

Hey guys I seem to have a problem I am curious as to if any one else is experiencing this other then my self. Yesterday I became the proud owner of a Xbox 360 Elite, along with a Olevia 232v (32") HDTV. My excitement came to a screaming halt when seeing the "Invalid Format" error after connecting my Xbox to my HDTV using the HDMI Port/Cable. HDTV AV works cable works just fine, but honestly who the hell paid for the 360 ELITE for the HDTV AV, obviously its all about the HDMI.

Any suggestions as to why I am getting this error, is it the HDTV I purchased, or did I miss some option or something, please help if you can and thanks in advance.
