DVD burner doesn`t burn or read discs all the time

The problem is when i am burning music or movies the reading or burning process slows down to almost a stop . Say i have to copy data from disc to hard drive , well the disc doesn`t spin very fast |

Hi all, I have a Pioneer dvr-110D dvd burner. The problem is when i am burning music or movies the reading or burning process slows down to almost a stop . Say i have to copy data from disc to hard drive , well the disc doesn`t spin very fast it takes forever..Same with burning material it doesn`t keep up its speed it just slows down and sometime even when i first put in blank dvd`s it sometimes don`t read the disc unless i open and close the tray a couple of times..I have tried different dvd`s and its the same i normally use Maxell or sony.. although i have used Vertebin and Memorex also.The dvd rom is only 9 months old and i have really not used it all that much. I have the latest drivers which is V1.41..I`m not sure what can be causing this.. I use Nero and Easy creator 6 as my software burners.My OS is Windows 2000 Pro
