DataTec DS350 is an external enclosure to connect an Hard DisK Drive (HDD) through the eSATA port.
According to the review published at PCStats, a drawback of this enclosure is that it has the eSATA connector only, whereas other similar enclosures have an USB2 or a Firewire port too. Even if compared to USB2 the eSATA interface allows a faster data transfer speed, not all mainboards have an eSATA port.
Another thing not found in this enclosure is a cooling fan, and the aluminum case becomes a little warm when touched with fingers.
No info can be found about the connection speed, because, as stated in the review:
"We're not going to benchmark a SATA hard drive in the DataTec DS350 because serial ATA devices like this do not have any significant impact on data transfer speeds."
