| Hi everyone, I'm having a dillema with my new TDK veloCD 16/10/40. It is the second generation plextor rebadge, CDRW161040 made in Japan and the firmware is currently v1.01. I am unable to extract audio at anything higher than 16-17x when the box claims 32x! My system should be able to handle 32x extraction, here are my specs: Microstar BX Master motherboard CeleronII 566 oc to 850mhz cpu Quantum ata/66 20gb 7200rpm hd 128mb pc100 ram Anyone have any ideas? | DMA settings in Windows? And the DAE speed varries across the CD, depending on the point where the laser is. The avaerage might be 16-17, while the peak may be 32x) Perhaps this newspost with Speed utilities might be of help: http://www.cdfreaks.com/news2.php3?ID=2160

| I have DMA enabled and I have never seen this drive go above 17.x speed yet. Here are the results of a CDSPEED99 test.
