It allows you to start most of the vso products from a central place, but if you only use Blindwrite it's not really useful.

Philipp:
How come CopytoDVDs latest 3.0.55 does not recognize the buffer under run on dash media. I went back to 3.0.49 because I wasnt sure if if wasn't detecting it or if it was just a log error. Please advise.

Yes in my Copy to DVD log the log shows the buffer under run not detected with dash media. It show it as dectected with + media. This has only occured since 3.0.55 version has been updated. It never show that with any other version thats why myself and about 20 others that I know who use CopytoDVD reverted back to 3.0.49. IT also is o.k with 3.0.53 but I do not have access to that version.

The only way to get Version 3.0.54 or 55 to dectect the buffer under run on dash media is to check the SOA box in the settings, but that slows the burn speed alot.

alan, if you got your CTDVD from 1click, then ask them for a link to the 3.0.53 version. Then again...you might ask VSO and they might provide you a link to download it also.

Thanks Quema34 but rather than go to another version, it would be nice if they could fix the current one. When I and many other found the problem in 3.0.54, we all thought they would fix it in an update. Well they updated and it was not fixed.

Thank you Phillipp , yes that is what we call -media in the USA ( dash). Some people refer to it as minus but that is wrong.

Yes, Philipp. I also use CopytoDVD with 1click and found that on the versions Alan mentioned, my CopytoDVD log would say "Buffer underrun proof not detected" every time I tried to use DVD-R media. If I can find the thread in the 1click forum, I will post it here, as my log was posted there.

Phillip, here's the series of posts showing that CopytoDVD had the trouble Alan was talking about (buffer under-run proof not detected). This link includes my posts and others from 1click

Thankyou Quema, you have been a great help. Many users are afraid to use the newer version and have reverted back to older versions because of this problem. It may just be a log error but it would be nice to know one way or another.

I'm using 3055, but I'm only using +R media to burn my backups with, too. That new version lists the PCI bus and function. I don't know what that's for, but I thought it was pretty neat.

Don't know what neck of the woods you come from but in my neck of the woods it's called - (minus r) media. That link goes to 1click, if VSO isn't notified they can't fix it.

actually, you are incorrect and alan1476 is entirely correct when using the word "dash" when referring to the DVD-R/W format: http://dvddemystified.com/dvdfaq.html#4.3.2

This has been discussed in many threads and reported not only to Phillipp but to VSO by myself and Norm at One Click. They chose to ignore it when they released 3.0.55, since the frist sign of it was in 3.0.54 and I reported it to them with logs and e-mail. All they have to do is burn disc of dash media and look at the log.

that being the case, that's quite sad. I suppose one more person (me) emailing them with the problem wouldn't hurt.

Please if you are a Blindwrite Team member then you should be able to clear this log thing up. Contact someone with the authority to either fix it or let us know what is causing it.
Thankyou

well, I can relate to alan's frustration, b/c copytodvd (from VSO) is the write part of the 1clickdvdcopy software. It's really a good program, but for whatever reason, the buffer under-run proof function on people's burners hasn't been detected since 3054, and we've got a long thread going about it with many logs posted there since over 1 month ago. I realize this issue could take time to resolve, but I would hope it's not that complex, since all builds before that worked fine. I have burned successfully with 3055, but without my buffer under-run proof enabled on -R media.
