removing axv scsi device

Alcohol Discuss, removing axv scsi device at Burning Software forum; Hello I have win xp pro upgraded recently to sp 1.after that procedure my DVD-ROM Sony ddu1622 disappear and instead this appear axv scsi virtual drive by alcohol 120% Even after removing alcohol software and axv drive still DVD-ROM didn’t recognize by windows. Where is the problem? Thanks a lot.

Go to control panels/system/hardware/device manager, find under "SCSI and RAID controllers" the Alcohol* SCSI controller, and remove it.

All Alcohol drives will disappear. Normally this happens automatically when you uninstall alcohol, unless at the uninstallation time you still had some image mounted.

You will Also need to remove Plug and Play Bios Extension from System Devices. and if needed the Virtual Drive Drivers from the Windows/System32/Drivers Folder.

* Name of the Virtual Drive Driver varies from version to Version.

Go to device manager and delete your Sony drive if it shows, Re boot your PC and let windows refind your drive.

i did that few times -no change still windows cant detect my dvd rom ...what else ? may be regestry...

Have you checked your IDE cables are in securly, does the drive show in device manager, does the drive show in the bios, this sounds more like a windows problem rather than a problem associated to Alcohol
