I am having extreme difficulty making a working backup of "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone".

CLONY XXL tells me it is SafeDisk2. Iused alcohol 120% and did a burn using the SafeDisk 2 settings at 1X and the remaining settings at default.

My CD-RW is the LG 8240B (24x / 10x / 40x). My system is an AMD Athlon XP 2000+ on an ASUS A7S-333 mainboard with 512MB.

Any tips on what else I should try? I am new to copying......

Welcome to this forum Merc-1. I checked Alcohol's game protection list and your game is protected by SafeDisc 2.40. I think the problem here is your burner, as it cannot correctly encode EFM errors. Try reading/burning it at 8x and check the Bypass EFM errors. If it doesn't works its because your burner couldn't encode correctly EFM errors.

Thanks, Vio_Man!

I will try this process.

Just outta curiousity, what burners do you recommend for reliable copies?

Vio_Man,

I tried your settings and the disc copied perfectly! You rock!!

Does the same setting work for "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets?" Also, is there a reference for settings need to copy specific games?

I would recommend a LiteOn burner (48x or 52x). They're cheap and very reliable.

Yes, you can use the same settings for the Chamber of Secrets, because its protected by SafeDisc 2 too. You can check some game's protection here: http://forum.alcohol-software.com/in...=ST&f=1&t=2113
