I think a better approach to Cinavia would be to protest the any studios who use it. That is, perhaps, the only way to kill it for good. Otherwise, you're just getting caught in an uphill battle.

The copy protection really doesn't impact me. I don't do 1:1 copes of my blurays. I have a popcorn hour with an internal hard drive. I get lazy. I rip blurays to x265 mkv's and put them on my media box.

I think thats the biggest flaw of the whole thing. For people that aren't like me, they download their movies off the internet. Usually as a videofile, not a bluray disc image. Which means Cinavia becomes useless.

zod, ripping to 720p x264 still leaves the cinavia protection in place, the protection is in the audio. Popcorn Hour will be forced to add cinavia if they want to be able to play future bluray .iso files, if they do this then your cinavia protected .mkv files will stop working.

IMHO, any time a company takes money for "pre-orders", be afraid. There's no excuse for charging customers for vaporware. You charge people when you have something to sell, not before.

Exactly, sooo they don't know and we don't know when or if their software will come out.
I'd say this is worse than no one claiming they have a solution.

They didn't give another date...not even which week, month or year.
This is the reality at the present time.

I don't think there is a date and it's pretty much open ended ATM.
