Hey,

I've got a problem with burning a DVD.

It's like this.
I have a DVD I would like to backup, when I play that dics in my HomeCinemaSystem I get a perfect movie until some part of the movie gets wrong... from 55 minutes to 57 minutes into the movie I get still video and interupting sound.

I still want to copy this DVD to a DVD+R...
I use DVDdecrypter to get the files. Then I use Pinacle MultiCopy to strip the extra materials and compress the main movie. Then I burn the pdi-image to a DVD+R with DVDdecrypter.

But on the movie mentioned above I get multiple errors reading some vob-files from the CD to my HD.
The error is named "L-EC Uncorrectable Error".

The DVDdecrypter-log is as folows:

I 15:40:49 DVD Decrypter Version 3.1.7.0 started!
I 15:40:49 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 1)

"Fast Skip Error = Yes"
When I import this into Pinacle I get a message that Pinacle cant import the files... so thats the end of the story...

"Fast Skip Error = No"
Importing the files into Pinacle is no problem, compressing the files with Pinacle is no problem, burning the pdi-image with DVD-decrypter is also no problem.
When I want to play the disc in my HCS the parts of the movie where the problems are at the original disc are mostly gone... you can see the errors but far less then with the original disc (acceptable).
So, I was very happy I managed to find a solution.... BUT, when I watched the movie a little further it suddenly skips a part of the movie... it jumps from 1:02:00 to 1:07:00. If I play the movie backwards after 1:07:00 I get to 1:04:30... So the film IS there but the problem is that it skips to 1:07:00

Does enyone know how to correct this problem ??

If you need more info, just ask

Greetz.

Sounds like a dirty/scratched disc to me.

And the aliens are sending extremely high frequency signals from a far off galaxy to dull our minds so they can take over the planet and use us as their slaves.

Your disc is probably scratched or dirty like Sseth said, if you're ripping off of a written disc its probably just poorly written or on shitty media, don't listen to this moron.

I assume your talking about DVDR ( either - or + ) hear, then its either they were NOT burnt reliably in the first place or the media was flawed. There is simple no DVD Video copy protection applied to any Video DVD's at this point in time.

You mentioned during playback iof video & audio distortion, that itself should tell you there is a problem with the dvd. Any copy protection would not (should not) produce any playback distortion now should it ?

Try reading it in different readers, your burner is generally your best reader as well.

i am talking about dvd-r
one of the dvd i used dycrpter to extract but i got an L_ec uncorectable erro,
but when i ran it thru dvd shrink it extrated the hole thing.
i burnt it , then i got my copy and ran it thru dycrpter it was fine
now thats weird
i got a nother disc and ran that thru dvd dhrinks it would extract because of a erro wright at the end also tried it in dycrpter it crashed
i trying al these method and trying to eliminate my option
and get the answer.
At least copy protection is off the list
