how to make PS 2 backups???

what software is able to make 1:1 backups of PS games???


iam planing on buying a dvd burner and do i need a mod chip if it is a 1:1 backup

I use PrimoDVD and had no problems. Unfortunately you will still need a MODChip to play Backups.

If it's a PS2 CD-ROM game you'll do the trick with Clone CD and a normal blank CD-R.

If it's a PS2 DVD game do it with the DVD-copy function in Nero.

YES! You'll always need a mod-chip. I can recommend Messiah it will cost you but no booting or swapping.

I don't mean to toot my horn but there is soon to be the release of Messiah 2 modchip

plus for some news on this thread is that some sites have a Bootdisk Cd avaliable for those who wish not to mod their console but there are no results or news on this working.

So its recommended to stick with a modchip

has info on the newest modchip plus its now less specific on model numbers so you only have to get a PAL/JAP/US chip OR the flagship model they have covers all Playstations.

PS'2 games come in two different formats. Mostly DVD now but there are some CD-Rom's about. For either you will need a mod-chip, the CD's can be burnt the same as any other cd onto a cd'r with clone cd. For the DVD's you will need a DVD burner and another piece of software like Nero or PrimoDVD.
