| How does CloneDVD2 handle dual-layer movies on a single layer burner? Hi there. New to the forum, and looking for help. I went through the trial version of CloneDVD2, and liked what I saw. However, it expired before I had money to buy it, so I decided to try a trial version of DVDFab Platinum in the meantime for comparison. Between the two, I much prefer CloneDVD2, but something came up that has me wondering. My burner is an I/O Magic 8x single layer. With DVDFab, dual layer discs would be split, usually with the main movie on one disc and the extras on another. Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to experiment with any dual-layer discs before my trial ended. My questions are, how does CloneDVD2 handle a dual layer disc in a single layer burner? Would it be split up a similar way, and how much customization control would I have? I'm thinking that I could use the preview screen to separate the extras from the movie if need be. Would there be any easy way to tell if I'd need to burn to two discs (since most DVD's don't indicate single vs dual layer)? Thanks in advance for the assist. |

| Re: How does CloneDVD2 handle dual-layer movies on a single layer burner? CloneDVD will compress it to fit, as opposed to DVDFabGold's 2 disc zero compression split. If you want to avoid compression with Clone, you will have to manually cut the disc into 2 parts, sacrificing the menus. Both are good programs, going about it 2 different ways. DVDFabExpress will compress also however. |
