I am looking for a program that will encode an AVI file to DVD format, such as NeroVision Express 2. I have used that exclusively for years but have lately run into a few Xvid files that just wont work with Nero. 
I know there were some a few years back but can't remember what they were. Getting old I guess. Anyone know of any?

Well its free, but I think their plus version is the only one with MPEG 2 support. The softwars is awesome and I would assume their plus version will live up to its name.
I will throw this into the trasncodng forum for ya, maybe you can get more freeware answers there.__________________

The TMPGenc Plus has a fully funtional 15 day trial.
Have you also upgradded your Xvid codec? If not, then that is most certainly the problem. Uninstall your current and install the latest 1.0.2 from http://www.koepi.org/__________________
