What for a media brand you've used? Also do you've the latest firmware for your 4163?
Edit: I see Ritek made stuff, then i'd suggest you to try another brand Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim or maybe Ricoh.

Rapidfire was just asking if you have the latest firmware for your 4163 (I believe A106 is floating around the LG forum somewhere), as it may help you. Along with using some better media.

sorry for my ignorance but ur talking about updating the firm ware for the DVD driver?
Ive managed to bypass this but ripping the VTS files via DVD shrink and then burning them using the Copy DVD option in Nero 6... so it cant be the type of media im using as this does it brilliantly..

The firmware for the DVD drive, yes. Have a look around the LG forum for a thread entitled "New firmware for 4163B - A106" (or something very similar).

Don't know if it'll help, but since rapidfire suggested it, I'm happy to agree!

And if the Ritek stuff is working for you (using other ripping/burning methods), then - brilliant, at least it doesn't go to waste! I'd still be curious to see if another brand/manufacturer gives you the same error, though (I'm just curious by nature ).
