funny that as the other dvd cant be analysed by dvdshrink luck of the draw i expect

even dvddecryptor couldnt cope with it said something about, interface thread runtime exception message = eaccess violation

knowing my luck this is just a one off and i will be tearing my hair out again baffled.
No problem and glad you finally got it sorted.

I usually use PowerDVD myself BTW.

DVDDecrypter and DVD Shrink haven't been updated in years now and can't handle more recent protections.

Stick with DVDFab and you'll be fine though.

As cholla says the free ripping element continues to function but is a bit behind the paid up version.

Glad you've found the forums here useful and I hope you enjoy your time here.

Each version 5,6,7, and 8 install in there own folder so no it would not effect the version you have now.

Re: DVD copy protection - is this new, has anybody else encountered this.

bean55 is correct as long as the first number is different a new folder will be created both in Program Files & the Start menu.
I haven't done many movies where you had to select the correct title set.
I think you do about the same with DVDFab as with DVDShrink on this.
You can be a lot more certain with DVDFab (free) though.
I don't have the free version but I understand you have to wait about 60 days past the time the paid version will decrypt new releases.

@ andy64 , Since you have a very old version you will most likely get a full function trial . That will become the free version after the trial expires.

ah i see so if an update is ready for the paid version the free version will get it 60 days later.

or if a new release (dvd) comes out that needs fabdvd to be updated the free version will get it 60 days later

think those 2 comments are the same, i need some sleep :-)

Yes that's the latest version.

DVDFab comes as a package with all the various components individually activated. The DVDFab HD Decrypter component is free though and remains permanently activated.

Please note the edits I've made to your earlier post though.

It isn't permitted to discuss such things here.

Check out the forum rules link in my signature for further details.

No problem.

Everyone deserves a fair chance here as far as I'm concerned.
