Drive Speed Control?

Movie copy software Discuss, Drive Speed Control? at Software forum; I noticed that AnyDVD has a drive speed control option. I always keep it on default drive setting. If I utilize this feature can I write DVD's faster? How can I make my drive write faster when copying/burning? Is the quality of copy downgraded If you use a faster drive

    The option is for controlling read speed, not write speed.

    Short of firmware hacking/flashing, there's no way to increase read or write speed.
