Only thing that makes me suspicious is that how accurate the test was.. Just got this bit of info on Intervideo Copy DVD:

There are some strange things in the test.
http://dvd.box.sk/dvdr/img/art6/
When you compare for example sklad_dvdc.jpg and sklad_orig.jpg(Intervideo DVD COPY v1.2 test), files are exact same.
I don't think difference in view, but in binary compare.
Result=====>orginal and transcoded file are only renamed to another name.
In all tests(directory art1-art6) sizes of original and final files are different in kb(kilobytes), except sizes of Intervideo DVDCopy. There is only a small difference in bytes or exact same file(difference in head of file=different time...)!!!???!!!
It's suspicious. Maybe fake test!!!!
Direct path to pictures used in this article @ http://dvd.box.sk/dvdr/img/art7/. Maybe I should compare them when I get some time. To see if there *really* is any faking done.

There's also another thread about "InterVideo DVD Copy vs. Pinnacle InstantCopy" which I wrote @
http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread....threadid=86906. I've got very little answers there so it'd be appreciated if you'd contribute to the thread!

Not a very good article IMO:

1. They only encoded one movie.
2. Where are the settings they used? For example, did they use Deep Analysis with DVD Shrink? I don't think so.

And your comments also make their results seem suspicious.

I really liked article you did for CD Freaks "Copying DVDs, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly". Maybe you should make part 2 of it, because lots of development in programs has happened since it was made.

Especially I'd like to see comprehensive tests between latest versions of InterVideo DVD Copy, Pinnacle InstantCopy and DVD X Copy Xpress.

The direct link to the pictures used for the dvd.box.sk test shows, that not one single picture of Intervideo Copy DVD, according to you the ones with ending dvdc matches the file size of the original file.

Actually the file, that matches exactly the original file size is sklad_inst.jpg, which belongs most likely to InstantCopy, same for the hala_orig.jpg and hala_inst.jpg.

For the ohen series of pics, the Instant file matches the Intervideo one and the original file size is shared by ohen_dvdx.jpg and ohen_vr.jpg.

Do we talk about the same files here? I would sugest you take a closer look to the filesize again.

I was posting a reply that I read at Doom9. There have been some more posts at Doom9 since I lasted posted here. The only true way to see if you like it is to try before you buy.

I use different pieces of software on different movies. The results, to me, seem to vary from one to the other.

But i admit, i like Intervideo Copy DVD quality also, but not on all movies.

intervideo just released a newer version of DVD Copy Platinum. Claims to be faster and offers more customization. Also they say on the site that there is no visible quality loss for DVD9 to DVD5.

A big claim there my friend.

actually i don't know any better. I just know that all of them have varying results.

which other ones claim the same "Quality"? It's pretty misleading and could qualify under false advertising =)
