Although, this hasn't been the case since I bought this external DVD drive three years ago, for the past few months it cannot read, play, or record any dual layer DVD discs. And I am not talking only about blank ones. Original DVD movies which are played by my other DVD drive and by my standard DVD player are not recognized as well. I do not believe that it has something to do with the software, because even when the computer is switched off, the drive does not seem to be reading the disc. Except from the obvious solution of replacing the drive, what else can I do? |

| Since the drive is no longer covered by a warranty, there's no harm in opening it up and cleaning the lens. |
