| Using Toshiba laptop HDMI out I have just bought a Toshiba P300-16T T23702G series laptop. It has an HDMI out port but the dvd writer/play isn't HD. If I connect the HDMI on the laptop to the HDMI on my TV and play a normal DVD will I see any difference on the TV screen (having of course switched to HDMI) . I think I will also have to connect the audio out of the laptop to the audio in on the TV(?). Thanks

| Re: Using Toshiba laptop HDMI out It most likely out put 720P which is HD and should up rez standard DVD. One thing I would like to know what Toshiba did with all the HD-DVD notebook drives that didn't endup in their notebooks? I have A205-S7464 with HD-DVD player, I love it! I know HP sold all their internal HD-DVD roms to Geeks.com and I picked up 2 for $18 each! Would love to get a couple notebook drives. JohnnyJT ![]() South Philly |

| Re: Using Toshiba laptop HDMI out Thanks johnny. I think I was misled by PC World because I've just read up on HDMI and unless I'm reading it wrong then it does both audio & video so I don't need to use the separate audio out form the Toshiba, or have I got it wrong. I've noticed a large number of s/h Toshibas on eBay and quite a few mention that certain models have HD DVD writer/reader but I thought I read somewhere recently that Toshiba have only just started shipping laptops with that sort of drive, but then again I could be totally wrong.

| Re: Using Toshiba laptop HDMI out With the HDMI both video and audio are carried to the tv. I did a Google on your P300-16T T23702G and I found many are being sold in the UK and not anywhere else! Being the dispay is 17" the HDMI might actually output 1080i check your owners manual or d/l from internet. Saw on Ebay notebook HD-DVD drives still too high priced. JohnnyJT ![]() South Philly |
