Toshiba sd-r5372 will not burn audio

Hello everyone. (SORRY FOR LONG POST IN ADVANCE)

I have this prob that has been bugging me for a while now and I finally have time to address it. I have the above-mentioned dvd-rw drive and it used to work perfectly on all types of discs and formats. A while back it stopped burning audio CD's (CDR/CDRW)... data still burns fine (I think) and so do DVD's.

I'm not sure if the two are related, but I upgraded from 512 RAM to 1.5gb around the same time the problems started. I tried taking out the new memory but the problem persisted.

Sometimes, if I uninstall the drive, unhook the power from it and redetect it, I am able to burn 1 song on a cd-rw. I use Nero 6 and I've tried reinstalling that as well. Some people said I have a bad drive, but it's barely a year old and I treated it very well so I would like to know if anyone has any ideas on this. Thanks in advance.

**usually nero just hangs at 5% complete with the top buffer bar thingy at 100% and the bottom little bar at 0% (when it burned successfuly in the past, it was 96-98% full, but it never fills up)!!!**

I use windows xp sp2, amd xp1800 processor, 1.5gb ram.

i saved a log that gave me a burn error failed message. i will post and maybe someone that knows about these things can interpret. thanks
