I was mostly joking...

I have seen (not here) on other forums people get called "lamers" if they have less than xp3000 / 1GB RAM / 200 GB hdd...

Some people (I think the very young) feel insecure if they have less than the latest and fastest cpu and display card.

I never play games, so I would rather spend my money on dvd writer and 2 mbit cable service.

I also have a Pioneer 105 and Nec 1300A that are in external enclosures, but I tend to stick with the Cyberdrive right now. The BTC write some media fine (ProdiscS03) and others not so good (Rytek G03 and G04) so I primarily use it to read tough disks as that is all I consider it really reliable at.

Very few coasters but inconsistant read results @ 4x.....2X produces good copies playable on all my computers asa well as my ps2....mi standalone player sylvania dl100 barely plays commercial dvd's...still waiting for bit-setting in a real release [not a beta].
