CD and DVD Writers Discuss, sony DVD RW AW G170A not detecting disk at Computer Hardware forum; I have sony DVD RW AW G170A it is one year old the problem is it is not detecting disks it shows burned disks data immediately after the burn completed but show as blank disk when inserting subsequently

Then this is a driver/3rd party software problem.

Daemon Tools, InCD, Alcohol or similar softwares installed?

I have daemon tools pro 4.10.0218 installed
I used "cd.dvd.helper" a software which optimizes dvd rotation speed
but when I try plugging another dvd drive it works fine

Hi,

I have the same problem with my Sony AW-G170A. I cant burn a thing or even format my CD/DVD-RW from My Computer. I can see that the burning process is going on, but once its done, its ejects itself. I put the CD/DVD back in and it comes as a blank media. When I check the Verify Data option, it gives me an error saying Unable to complete Data Verification.. burn process failed. I ve tried burning with many softwares, nogo. I have tried updating the firmware with no luck. I also have tried uninstalling the drive from Device Manager without any luck. Tried uninstalling Daemon tools any every software in conjunction with CD/DVD... absolute NOGO.. any suggestions as to what can be done ???

Problem solved!!.. Tried cleaning the drive with a lens cleaner disk with some solution
