SATA converter for nforce

CD, DVD and Blu-ray Writers Discuss, SATA converter for nforce at Hardware forum; anyone know of a ide->sata converter that works on nforce boards? I have one that allows me to read and write, but if I try to cd kprobe or cd-dvd speed quality scan my computer hangs.
