| CD and DVD Writers Discuss, Problem with Clonedvd2 and DVD-R!!! at Computer Hardware forum; Hey guys. I'm new at the forums here, and I need some help. I just got Clonedvd2 on my computer and I tried the last option in the menu (Burn excisting data) when you locate the "VIDEO_TS" files and burn them. First I tried burning them to a DVD-R disc. |
| Hey guys. I'm new at the forums here, and I need some help. I just got Clonedvd2 on my computer and I tried the last option in the menu (Burn excisting data) when you locate the "VIDEO_TS" files and burn them. First I tried burning them to a DVD-R disc. That didn't work. It just said there was something wrong with the disk and asked me to replace it. So I tried with DVD+R and it worked like a charm. The only problem is that I only had one DVD+R disc and I got a bunch of DVD-R discs. Anyone know how I can burn files to DVD-R discs using Clonedvd2??? I really appreciate all answers |

| @ Hakon92, Welcome to the Forum. Sounds like your DVD-R problem ‘could’ be caused by the use of poor quality problematic DVD-R Media. Suggest providing the DVD MID (Manufacture ID and Media Code) (Example: TYG02) of the DVD-R Media you are attempting to use. To obtain the DVD MID (Manufacture ID and Media Code) (Example: TYG02) of the DVD-R Media you are attempting to use suggest using a utility software program similar to DVDInfo (http://www.dvdinfopro.com). | While the burners on the market today handle both -R(W) and +R(W) (so called dual format), old drives handle either DVD-R and DVD-RW or DVD+R and DVD+RW. Please let us know which driver you have. Assuming you're using Windows (since it is the most common), I think you can find this under storage devices in device manager. If you can't find it, have a look at what symbols and texts you can find on the front of your drive. |
