Panasonic UJ-220 IDE Blu-Ray BD-RE Burner Drive
im trying to replace my dvd burner in my dell d630 laptop with Panasonic UJ-220 IDE Blu-Ray BD-RE Burner Drive that i got off ebay.
the laptop is a 2.5 duo core with the NVIDIA Quadro NVS 135M video card and 2 gb of ram.
for whatever reason i cannot get this drive to run in dma mode and every time i check off dma it always goes back to pio4 mode. the last time i had this happen was when i bought an after market dvd burner for my old dell d610. if i remember correctly...this situation was similar...no matter how we tried to run in dma it would not stick. we finally decided to flash a different mfg firmware and that worked. does anyone know how i can fix my problem and or where to grab a new working firmware that will allow this drive to run in dma mode.
