I recently got this dvd-burner, i havent used it to burn dvd's but i have used it to try and burn regular cd-r's. For the first several burns everything worked well. But now it always FAILS

. I have tried about 15 blank cd'rs each time it fails. I dont get a concrete error but after about 4% it stops burning it says SCSI Command Aborted ( i dont know why it says SCSI as part of the name of the burner when it is IDE!!!) After this it says End of Disk Failed.... and that's it. I dont know what went wrong.

Computer Stats:
Abit NF-7 Motherboard
Amd XP 2600+ Processor
Ati radeon 9800 pro 128mb video card
512 Kingston DDR pc3200 ram
Lite-On 16x Dvd-drive
Optorite DD0405 8x dvd-rw drive.....

Make sure your not using the Nvidia sw ide driver. Roll back the ide driver to the microsoft one. Also make sure your drive is using udma mode and not pio mode.

it worked man thanks a lot, i reinstalled my motherboard drivers and left out the ide part of it... now my drive is working like fine. Thanks... How did you know that was the problem?

I've had the same problem before with that driver and other cd/dvd burners. It works with some drives but with others it won't. Glad to have helped!
