| CD and DVD Writers Discuss, Need an SATA DVD writer that works with CD Speed (Disc Quality test) at Computer Hardware forum; I just got a new HP computer and was disappointed to find that it only has SATA connections inside, no IDE. I was planning on brining my BenQ 1640 over because I still love the drive and love its ability to run Disc Quality tests in CD Speed. Can anyone |
| I just got a new HP computer and was disappointed to find that it only has SATA connections inside, no IDE. I was planning on brining my BenQ 1640 over because I still love the drive and love its ability to run Disc Quality tests in CD Speed. Can anyone point me to an SATA DVD writer that is capable of running Disc Quality tests in CD Speed? The list of supported drives on the CD Speed web site seems really out-of-date (the BenQ 1640 isn't even on it), and not sure what drives I should be considering. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks! |

So, I suggest thinking about a Liteon drive in connection with either a IDE interface card or an external USB enclosure. Similar like the Samsung, recent Liteon DVDRW drives are useless for scanning CD media (but good DVD scanners). Michael
