where can i find firmware update for nec dvd rw nd-4570a writer, when i play some dvd's after burning with this drive they stop or skip a little i was told firmware might fix the problem any help would be welcome please.

Welcome to the Forum.

From your limited description of your “stop or skip a little” playback/viewing problem this is not a NEC ND-4570A Firmware problem but is the typical classic symptom of the use of poor quality blank DVD Media. To consistently obtain quality error free results only use known proven high quality error free Media such as Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim Media.

bjkg, thank you very much the blank discs that i am using is traxdata silver top printable ritek, i found the firmware updated from 1.02 to 1.03 made no difference i will try what you suggested, thanks again.

If you perform a Google Search (http://www.google.com) on the topic ‘Traxdata Ritek’ you will find that this Media is poor quality problematic Media. Ritek manufactured Media has a rich well-documented history of poor quality problematic Media which is plagued with reflectivity degradation problems.

As previously suggested to obtain quality error free results only use known proven high quality error free Media such as Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim Media.
