Hi There,

Does anyone know how to fix my problem?

My BTC 1008 DVD Writer is recognized as:

- 6-8x DVD player (shouldn't it be 12x ???)

- 4x DVD+R writer (should be 8x )
- 2x DVD+RW/-R(W) (should be 4x)

For CD-R(W) it seems to work fine.

Also NERO tests give 1 MB/s burst??? While a pioneer A07 gives 14 MB/s....

Also updated my firmware to V0055 (from 0052), but nothing changed.

I'm thinking of changing it for a NEC 2500 or a LiteOn 811s if this one is not working fine!

Regards,
Maarten

Looks like it's in PIO mode.

Either of those drives will be a better choice.

a ATA33 cable (40-pins) should be enough to connect it, or not? It doesn't reach a higher transferrate.

Sure it'll be enough, but you have to make sure that your device is working in UDMA mode in the Windows Device Manager.

Checked it. Windows XP's setting on the IDE/ATAPI interface says DMA mode if available.
Also Checked the bios, at first UDMA was disabled for all IDE ports (except the RAID controller where my HDD's are).
I Putted the BIOS setting to UDMA, but no changes at all. Read spead keeps saying 8x and so on... strange...
BTC doesn't convince me this way.
Look... I want to plug'n'play with the drive!
