Re: MediaCodeSpeedEdit tool for DVD-Writers

Thanks for the response ala42.

My serches have been futile. I did not realize this firmware was so illusive.

Is there a way to extract it from the drive?

I'm thinking of getting this drive and noticed the latest MCSE supposed firmware v2.0 for this drive. Has anyone tried the patched firmware to confirm if they can rip at 8x for BD-R DL media?

Can't decide between the LG CH08LS10 or the Lite-On iHES108, the last one is specifically mentioned in your changelog that the riplock allows 8x read speed of dual layer BD media. Hoping there are some other users out there who can shed some light on this please!

Hello Ala42,

Thank you for your tool. I have tried several versions of it, 1.2.0.5, 1.2.0.3 and even older (e.g. 1.1.0.17)

I want to report a problem that I am having. I am running MCSE, but when I load the firmware for TS-L462D SC05 (which is supposed to be supported), nothing loads.

I have tried the same for the Dell version firmware (DE10) but that does not load either. Of course that firmware is not in the supported list.

Could you be so kind as to help me with instructions for the SC05 firmware? In fact, would it be possible to add support for the Dell version DE10?

Thank you.

Samsung SC05 firmware here: http://www.x-drivers.com/catalog/bio...462d/6053.html

Dell DE10 firmware here: http://support.dell.com/support/down...&fileid=281086

Thanks for reporting, support was not enabled in the released MCSE version by mistake. Do you need an SC05 RPC1 patch ?

Hey Ala42,

I am very fortunate to catch you online.

Yes I would love to have the RPC1 patch for SC05.

But more than that, I would really like to have support enabled for DE10 which contains a whole lot of media compatibility and stability updates. It is essentially the same drive (but OEM firmware). I wonder if you could enable support for this firmware, PLEASE!?

Thank you once again.

Re: MediaCodeSpeedEdit tool for DVD-Writers

Hello,

unfortunatly MCSE doesn`t support the LG CH08LS10 2.00 yet - special the media code list.
Will it be possible soon?

Thanks for your support

MCSE does support the riplock and RPC2 AutoReset patches. Do you just want to read or change the media code list ?

@ala42

Both v1.2.0.4 and 1.2.0.5 do not display the media list of the Samsung SH-S222A firmwares properly. v1.2.0.3 and before have no such problem.

For GSA-4167 firmware, the "increase read speed" checkmark is not working with 1.2.0.2 and 1.2.0.5.
It did work with 1.1.0.18

hi, could you add support (riplock remove) for the "Optiarc AD-7580S"?

this drive is based on QSI design - I doubt there is any firmware update available for that drive, so it can't be patched.
Apart from that, slim drives like this are physically limited, so there is not much advantage in a riplock remove patch.
